Turanganui

Established in 1907, Turanganui has a long history of sheep breeding from the same Romney gene base – from the robust sheep of the early days through to the highly productive animal we produce now. The Turanganui flock is now in its fourth generation of Warren hands.

Capable of 165% ewes mated to lambs docked, with a  10-year average survival to sale running at around 155%, the lambs grow quickly and produce a meaty carcase.

As foundation members of the Wairarapa Romney Improvement Group,  it is a thrill to see the improvements and enhancements that have taken place over 45 years of continual selection for the productive traits under commercial conditions, whilst using the best techniques available at the time.
